Writer Photographer Editor Publicist
I’m the Executive Editor of Tripatini.com, the social networking site for travelers. Since resigning as editor-in-chief of Diversion (Hearst) in 2004, I've also been a freelance writer, contributing to...
I cover history, the arts, the outdoors, and affordable travel. In addition to travel and business stories (and working on Tripatini), I’ve served as associate editor of Caribbean Escapes and EverettPotter.com. At Hearst I produced Diversion magazine, custom publications, contests, a website, and a finance magazine for physicians. Along with my wife and a terrier of indecipherable lineage, I divide my stay-at-home time between downtown Manhattan and rural Pennsylvania. I love the tri-state upper Delaware Valley, with its forests, wildlife, and, after a long drought, first-rate resorts. Awful cellphone service, but life is a compromise. In my spare time I serve as chair of SATW's Northeast Chapter and the publicist for a nonprofit arts organization. Today's tip: how to love your editors. Turn in great copy that they don't have to edit, and you'll love them for leaving your writing alone. They'll be pretty fond of you, too.
